Home Minister Amit Shah has paid tribute to the country’s first female teacher Savitribai Phule on her birth anniversary.

The Minister remembered her dedication towards women’s education as well as empowerment and said it was unique.

In a tweet, he also underlined her contribution in making the society aware of the importance of girls’ education by starting a girls’ school. He added that Phule also raised her voice against many evils in the society.
