Drug peddler found hanged inside lockup
An Incharge Police Post (SI) has been attached and two cops of Police Post Nagri were placed under suspension after a drug peddler allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in police custoday of Nagri Police Post in district Kathua of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police said that the drug peddler identified as Sonu Kumar, a resident of Sakta Chack, Kathua, on Monday evening committed suicide in police lockup. He was found hanging from the bolt of the door.
He was arrested by police on February 4 with seven gram of heroin at Boond area and accordingly was booked under NDPS Act.
“ Incharge Police Post, Nagri has been attached, two cops have been suspended for negligence and a departmental inquiry headed by ASP Kathua has been ordered after a drug peddler committed suicide in police lock up”, SSP Kathua Shivdeep Singh told.
Police said that the deceased was a habitual drug peddler and had three FIRs against him under NDPS Act. In 2017, he was booked by Kathua Police and in 2018 he was booked by Himachal Pradesh Police.
