Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to deliver his address on 2nd day of 1st Meeting of Agriculture Working Group under India’s G20 Presidency

Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia will deliver his address on the second day of the ongoing 1st Meeting of Agriculture Working Group under India’s G20 Presidency  at Indore, Madhya Pradesh today. Besides, there will also be general discussion among the participating members and International Organizations.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the event yesterday.  Mr. Chouhan said that India wil play a key role in ensuring food security to the world as it is an important issue in front of the world.

Chief Minister Chouhan added that the demand of foodgrains in the world is expected to go up 345 million tonnes by 2030  which was only 192 million tonnes in the year 2000. He said it is a matter of pride the India is meeting the foodgrains requirement in the world.

Around 100 delegates from 30 countries including from G20 member countries are participating in the three day event which will conclude tomorrow. During the meeting agricultural related issues  including food security, sustainable agriculture, nutrition and food systems and digitalization for agricultural transformation are being discussed.

The  outcomes of the meeting will help provide solutions to the country and the world. The event also  provides an opportunity to India to offer G20 delegates and guests a glimpse of India’s rich cultural heritage.
