India had sent women rescuers for the first time to a foreign country under the Operation Dost to help the people of the devastated earthquake hit Turkiye. Five women rescuers were part of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

NDRF rescuers Rakhi and Shivani Agrawal shared their experiences saying it was very challenging.
NDRF DG Atul Karwal said, a strong relationship was built between Indian rescuers and locals.
He said the local people wanted NDRF members to leave their badges with them and in return, they kept something valuable belonging to them in their pockets.
