First G20 Working Group meeting of Culture concludes in Khajuraho
The first G20 Working Group meeting of Culture under India’s G20 Presidency concluded today in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh.
During the culture working group meeting, there was a wide discussion on the priorities set by India in four important sessions.
Culture Secretary Govind Mohan said that all the participating countries have agreed on these priorities. He informed that the Ministry of Culture has also prepared a proposal for year-long activities based on the meeting of the Culture Working Group.
A summary was also presented on the basis of two days deliberations. India had selected four main topics for this meeting. These include conservation and restoration of cultural property; Using Living Heritage for a Sustainable Future; promoting cultural and creative industries and the creative economy; Leveraging digital technologies for the preservation and promotion of culture.
The G-20 delegates will today visit Adivarta, the state museum focused on tribal art and culture, while tomorrow is reserved for visiting the Panna Tiger Reserve.
