Women 20 Inception meeting under India’s G20 Presidency to begin today at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra
In Maharashtra, Union Minister for Women & Child Development and Minority Affairs Smriti Zubin Irani will inaugurate a two-day Women 20 (W20) inception meeting today at Chatrapati Sambhajinagar.
W20 is an official engagement group under the Indian presidency of G20. Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagat Kishanrao Karad will also attend the opening ceremony.
Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa, Dr. Gulden Turktan, Founder chair of W20 and Ms Uli Silalahi, chair of W20 Indonesia 2022 will be present on this occasion. Ms. Smriti Irani will also share her thoughts on gender equality and women’s empowerment during the opening remark.
Around 150 women dignitaries from G-20 member countries, guest countries and special invitees to participate in two-days inception meeting.
The Chairperson of this W20 group and Chairperson of Sangeet Natak Akademi Dr. Sandhya Purecha, said that, during the Inception meeting five-panel discussions and two special sessions of discussion will deliberate.
The stories of unconventional women in India breaking barriers in different fields including in the Indian Navy, in grassroots entrepreneurship will also be shared with delegates.
