At least 18 people killed and around 100 injured in a powerful explosion in Bangladesh capital Dhaka

The death toll in the explosion that took place at Gulistan area in Dhaka yesterday  morning has gone up to 18. Seven people are admitted to the nearby hospital in a critical condition.

More than a 100 people are reportedly injured in the massive explosion.Several of them are admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery  in a critical condition.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Khandker Golam Faruq  said that the reason behind the deadly explosion in a building in Gulistan area was caused by the accumulated gas,

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at the loss of lives in the explosion.
