National Register of Citizens data is fully secured: MoS Nityanand Rai

The government on Tuesday assured that National Register of Citizens, NRC, data is fully secured. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, the Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai said no lapses pertaining to security of sensitive data has been found.

He said that the updating of the NRC in Assam has been undertaken as per the provisions of the Citizenship act 1955. The entire exercise is being conducted under overall supervision and monitoring of the Supreme Court.
