Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to dedicate 254 4G mobile towers to Nation in Arunachal Pradesh
Union Minister for Communications Ashwini Vaishnaw will dedicate 254 ‘4G mobile towers’ to the Nation in Arunachal Pradesh today, April 22.
These towers will provide 4G coverage in uncovered villages, thereby bringing digital connectivity to 336 villages, including several areas which have remained unconnected since Independence.
Over 70 thousand subscribers are expected to be benefitted from this service. On the occasion, Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju and Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chauhan will also be present.
Ministry of Communications in a statement said that the Central government has approved two thousand 605 4G mobile towers for providing connectivity to more than 3 thousand 721 villages in Arunachal Pradesh. These mobile towers have been approved with a total outlay of 2 thousand 675 crore rupees.
The Ministry said that access to high-speed network connectivity is being ensured for the state of Arunachal Pradesh through various schemes and projects like ‘Comprehensive telecom development for the North-Eastern Region’.
The government is working towards ensuring digital and mobile inclusivity across the country and empowering of common citizens through the last mile digital revolution and rapid proliferation of mobile and digital services.
