Deep Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal to gradually intensify into a severe cyclonic storm by May 11 morning
The depression over southeast Bay of Bengal intensified into a Deep Depression this morning.

It moved west-northwestwards with a speed of 5 kilometres per hour, and lies centered about 540 kilometres west-southwest of Port Blair.
The Met Department said it is very likely to move northwestwards for some time and then north-northwestwards and intensify gradually into a cyclonic storm over the same region around this evening.
It will gradually intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm by tomorrow morning, and a very severe cyclonic storm the following morning over southeast and adjoining central Bay of Bengal.
