NIA attaches property of jailed Hurriyat leader in Srinagar

National Investigation Agency on Tuesday attached the residential property of incarcerated Hurriyat Conference (G) leader and spokesperson Ayaz Akbar in the Maloora area of Srinagar outskirts.

 The property as per NIA was attached in connection with the alleged militant funding case.

 Ayaz Akbar is languishing in Tihar Jail since 2017.

 NIA team put up a board announcing the attachment of the house and land measuring 1 kanal and 10 Marla belonging to the incarcerated leader.

 NIA in a statement claimed that Ayaz Akbar was raising and collecting funds from within India and abroad through various illegal channels and was using the same to sponsor and promote separatist and militant activities in Jammu and Kashmir. [KNT]
