IMD warns of heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha next 2 days

India Meteorological Department, IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and issued Orange alert for Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh for the next two days.

 

It said there is moderate to high risk of flash flood over a few watersheds and neighbourhoods of Himachal’s Chamba, Kangra, Sirmaour, Shimla and Kullu districts till tomorrow. Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall is very likely to continue over Himachal Pradesh during next five days. Active monsoon condition is very likely to prevail over central and adjoining East India during next five days.

The  IMD also said the active monsoon conditions are likely to prevail over central and adjoining East India during the next five days, with heavy rainfall expected over Jharkhand and Odisha during the next 24 hours.

It said heavy rainfall is also expected eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh during July 16-18 and over Chhattisgarh on July 16-17. In the western part of the country, light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall is very likely to continue during the next 5 days.
