5-Day All India Painter’s Camp Concludes at JKAACL Jammu.
The Workshop was inaugurated on 27th July, 2023 by Sh. Bal Krishan, JKAS, Deputy Commissioner (Judicial),
Taxes Department Jammu, in the presence of Sh. T.S. Batra, Former Principal, IMFA, Jammu, O.P. Sharma,
Director, JKCCA, Dr. Shahnawaz, Editor cum Cultural Officer, JKAACL, Sh. Rakesh Sharma, Head of Fine arts
Department, IMFA, University of Jammu and S. Kulwant Singh prominent artist from Amritsar .
The prominent artists participating in the Camp include Sh. Jitinder Kumar from Delhi, Sh. Kulwant
Singh Gill, Amritsar, S. Sukhpal Singh, Amritsar, Mohd. Moin, Dehradun, Dharminder Sharma, Amritsar, Sh.
Tariq Saify, Poonch, Sh. Narinder Kumar and Parveen Gupta from Jammu.
In his welcome address Secretary JKAACL Sh. Bharat Singh, JKAS said that painting is a medium to
express your thoughts on canvas. The artists had created their imaginations on the canvas during this 5-Day
camp.

Ms. Sunaina Sharma Mehta, JKAS, Joint Director, Tourism, Jammu was the Chief Guest on the
concluding function. In her speech she thanked Secretary J&K Academy of Art, culture and Languages for
giving her opportunity to be a part of this function. She said that, “what one cannot express in words, a
painter can express that feeling through his painting”. She further said that JKAACL and Tourism Department
may jointly organise theme based Camps. The Certificates of participation were also distributed among the
participants by the Chief Guest.
Many Senior artists like Jung S Verman ,K.K.Gandhi, Anil Saraf, Rohit Verma,Kamal Nain Bhan, Akram
Kahan, Ashok Mehra besides various art students from IMFA, Jammu and other colleges visited the Camp and
were present in the concluding function.
Sh. O.P. Sharma, Director JKCCA presented vote of thanks. He said that visual arts activities has
increased since Bharat Singh has taken the charge of Secretary, JKAACL. He said that such Camps are very
important for development of art.
