Fire and Emergency Services department celebrates Independence Day organise various programs apart from flag hoisting.

The 77th Independence Day was celebrated today at Fire & Emergency Services, Headquarters, Batamaloo, Srinagar, with great fervor and enthusiasm. The programme was attended by the Jawans of Fire & Emergency Services, School Children & Staff from various Schools. Shri Alok Kumar-IPS (ADGP), Director Fire & Emergency Services, J&K unfurled the National Flag on the occasion.
While addressing the Jawans and School Children, the Director paid rich tributes to the Martyrs of the Nation who sacrificed their lives to mark India as an Independent and sovereign Nation. The Director Stressed the Jawans to follow the path of those martyrs to make India a leading Nation.
During the celebrations, a skit was also performed by the Jawans of F&E services regarding Fire Safety measures as an awareness programme.
On the occasion, a drawing competition of School Children was also held. The school children who were declared 1st, 2nd & 3rd position holders were awarded with Trophies, Medals & Certificates by the Director.
The Function was also attended by Medical Officer, Administrative Officer, Assistant Director and other senior officers/officials of the department.
