PM Narendra Modi arrives in Greece after completing a two-day fruitful visit to South Africa

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Greece after completing a two-day fruitful visit to South Africa. PM Modi will receive a ceremonial reception on his arrival. Mr. Modi is visiting Greece at the invitation of his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Members of the Indian diaspora are awaiting outside the hotel in Athens, for the welcome of PM Modi, where he will stay during his one-day official visit. This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Greece in 40 years.

Later in the day the Prime Minister will visit to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where he will lay a wreath. Mr. Modi will hold talks with Mr. Mitsotakis to discuss ways to further deepen the relationship between the two nations. He is also expected to meet President Katerina Sakellaropoulou. He will also interact with business leaders from both countries, as well as with the Indian community in Greece. India and Greece enjoy civilizational ties, which have strengthened in recent years through cooperation in areas like maritime transport, defence, trade and investments and people-to-people ties.
