‘Illegal structures raised to ground in Srinagar’s Green Belt

Srinagar, Sep 11, KNT: Lake Conservation and Management Authority Monday raised various structures to ground that allegedly had come up illegally in the green belt area of Srinagar outskirts.

The demolition drive was carried out at upper Brein, Laam, Dar Mohalla Nigeen and NIT areas.

A spokesperson said that Enforcement Wing of the LC&MA undertook a special drive and demolished multiple structures.

Meanwhile, locals alleged that only poor are being targeted while big fish are not touched. They claimed that illegal structures are coming up illegally in Nigeen Lake area and they are not being touched because those people have access to power corridors. [KNT]
