Police along with security forces arrest one hybrid terrorist in South Kashmir’s Shopian district
In the Kashmir Valley, Police along with security forces have arrested one hybrid terrorist in South Kashmir’s Shopian district yesterday. According to police, a joint checkpoint was established by Shopian Police, Army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifles, SOG PC Imam Sahib and CRPF 178 Battalion besides patrolling in Manihal, Aloora, DK Pora villages.
However, during naka checking at Manihal Crossing, suspicious movement of one person coming towards the naka point by foot was observed. While noticing the joint party, the suspected person tried to flee from the spot but the alert party apprehended him tactfully.
Upon his search, 01 Pistol, one Magazine, 14 live rounds, a mobile phone and other incriminating materials were recovered from his possession. During preliminary investigation, he revealed of having received the arms and ammunition from an active terrorist in order to carry out a terrorist attack in district Shopian. Meanwhile, a case under relevant sections has been registered in Police Station Imam Sahib and further investigation has been taken up.
