Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani stresses on need for developing opportunities for women in non-traditional sectors of economy
Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani has stressed on the need for developing opportunities for women in non-traditional sectors of the economy. Speaking at the CII Global Economic Policy Forum in New Delhi, the minister said that focus should be on encouraging women to be entrepreneurs.

She stressed on exploring avenues to amplify India’s economic potential through women-led development and increased female participation in the workforce. The minister further added, there is a need for women to have careers for the future such as in space, astrophysics, electric vehicles and renewable energy.
