Sensex trade at 69,879 & Nifty at 20,980

The key domestic share indices were trading flat in the afternoon trade today, amidst mixed global cues. The Sensex gained 54 points to trade at 69,879 and the Nifty was trading 11 points up at 20,980, when reports last came in. In today’s session, Sensex hit the new milestone of 70,000 mark to reach an all time high of 70,052 while Nifty also registered a record high of 21,026.

Strong macroeconomic data, on the domestic front, along with hopes that the Federal Reserve is done raising rates is reflecting on the indices’ rally.
