Three army personnel had attained martyrdom yesterday during an encounter at Dhayyar Morh between Dear Ki Galli and Bufliaz falling under the jurisdiction of police station Surankot in Poonch district. Two jawans also got injured in the encounter.

The terrorists, whose number is believed to be between three to four, had taken positions atop the hill from where they targetted the Army vehicles which had to slow down at a blind curve. The terrorists seemed to have carried out a recce of the area and chose the spot to target the Army personnel.

This is the fourth major encounter/ambush in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch this year, in which 20 army soldiers have sacrificed their lives.
