IMD forecasts isolated light rainfall and snowfall likely over J&K, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated light rainfall and snowfall likely over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad; and isolated light rainfall over Punjab and Haryana on 23 Dec, Saturday.

 

The IMD added that light to moderate rainfall will also continue over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep for the next 4 days.

The IMD also forecasts dense fog conditions in the morning hours very likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, and Odisha to continue till tomorrow; and over parts of Haryana and Rajasthan on 24 Dec 2023, Sunday. Dense to very dense fog is expected over parts of Punjab during the next four days.

The weather agency predicts minimum temperature in Northwest and Central India to rise by about 2 degrees Celsius till tomorrow, and by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in East India during the next two days.
