PM Modi to participate in ‘Mazdooron Ka Hit Mazdooron ko Samarpit’ programme in Indore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the ‘Mazdooron ka hit, Mazdooron ko samarpit’ programme virtually at 11 am today being organised at Indore on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Mr. Modi will hand over a cheque of about 224 crore rupees pertaining to the dues of the Hukumchand Mill workers, to the official liquidator and heads of Labour Union of Hukumchand Mill. The programme will mark the settlement of long pending demands of the Hukumchand Mill workers.

The workers of the Hukumchand Mill fought a long legal battle for the payment of their dues after the Hukumchand Mill in Indore was closed in 1992 and went into liquidation subsequently. Recently, the Madhya Pradesh Government played a positive role and successfully negotiated a settlement package which was endorsed by all stakeholders including courts, labour unions, the mill workers among others.

Prime Minister will virtually interact with the workers of Hukumchand Mill. The programme is being organised at Kanakeshwari Dham located in the Nanda Nagar area of Indore. On this occasion, 4 thousand 800 workers will get relief in the 30-year-old pending case of Hukumchand Mill workers and about 25 thousand members of their families will be benefited. During the programme, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will dedicate a total of 71 works from 8 departments, worth in total of Rs.105  crore. Similarly, bhoomi pujan/foundation stone will also be laid for the development works of around Rs.322 crore. Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Camp will also be organised at the venue.
