IED detected and defused in Srinagar outskirts

An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detected and subsequently destroyed along the Srinagar-Baramulla highway in Kashmir on Wednesday morning, officials said.

 They said that a patrolling party of Army detected an IED by the roadside at Lawaypora in Srinagar outskirts. Accordingly, a Bomb Disposal Squad was called in and traffic was halted.

 The IED was destroyed without causing any damage to property or lives.

 Police in this regard have registered a case and started an investigation. [KNT]
