Home Minister Amit Shah to inaugurate Centre of Excellence in Digital Forensics & an International Conference on Behavioural Forensics at NFSU in Gujarat today
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Centre of Excellence in Digital Forensics and an International Conference on Behavioural Forensics at National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat today.
Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Chairman of National Human Rights Commission Justice Arun Kumar Mishra, and Gujarat Law and Justice Minister Rushikesh Patel will be present at the inaugural session. Mr. Shah who is on a visit to Gujarat will also attend programmes in Bhavnagar and Ahmedabad today. More from our correspondent:
The ultra-modern Centre of Excellence in Digital Forensics has been endowed with state-of-the-art tools and infrastructure. The Centre will provide investigators with digital weaponry against cybercrime and also help in addressing crimes that are powered by the abuse of technology.
A three-day International conference on Behavioural Forensics will also be inaugurated today. The conference is being organised by NFSU in collaboration with National Human Rights Commission, National Commission for Women, National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights and Gujarat State Human Rights Commission. Nearly 600 delegates including Judges, Legal Officers, Police Officers and Criminologists from across the country will participate in this conference and will deliberate upon the Expanding Contours of Criminology.
