All India Urdu Mushaira organised by JKAACL.
JAMMU, JANUARY 28:
JKAACL organised ALL INDIA URDU MUSHAIRA at Abhinav Theatre Jammu, today. This event had been started
in the year 1960 and since then it is being organized regularly every year by JKAACL. Popular Poets of J&K and
across the states and UTs of the country joined the event organised by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and
Languages to celebrate 75th Republic Day.

The event was inaugurated by lighting of lamp by Sh. Suresh Kumar Gupta, IFS, Principal Secretary,
Department of Culture who was the Chief Guest on the Occasion in the presence of Sh. Bharat Singh, JKAS,
secretary, JKAACL, Dr. Drakshan Andrabi and other guests.
On the occasion, Sh. Bharat Singh, JKAS, Secretary, JKAACL welcomed the veteran and acclaimed poets and
the guests. He highlighted the important role of literary personalities and events like this Mushaira in shaping
new ideas. Such events not only bring together the literary talent but also celebrate our linguistic and cultural
heritage, he further added.
Today’s Mushaira witnessed the participation of Chander Bhan Khayal from Delhi, Jyoti Azad Khatri from
Bhopal, MP, Asalm Rashid from Guna, MP, AsrarChanderi from Chanderi, Madan Mohan Danish from
Gwalior, Krishna Kumar Toor from Dharmshala, HP, ReenuNayyar from Jalandhar besides local poets like Dr.
Darakshan Andrabi, Srinagar, Parvez Manoos, Srinagar, Ahmad Shanas, Jammu, Khursheed Bismal, Rajouri,
Ghulam Nabi Gafil. Marwah Dachan, Touseef Tabish, Bhaderwah, Suhail Sadeeqi, Bhaderwah, Irfan Arif,
Poonch and Parvez Malik from Rajouri Darhal.
Sh. Suresh Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary, Culture Department; Sh Bharat Singh Manhas, Secretary JKAACL;
renowned artists and people, especially the youth in large number were present. As announced by Hon’ble Lt
Governor, in the inaugural function of Akhil Bhartiya Kavi Sammelan, First-ever Dogri Kavi Sammelan will be
held in Abhinav Theatre, Jammu, on 30th January, 2024 as a part of Republic Day celebrations.
