Centre is making efforts to increase number of countries that provide visa-free travel, visa-on-arrival, and e-Visa facilities to Indians, says MoS V Muraleedharan

Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan today said that the Centre is continuously making efforts to increase the number of countries that provide visa-free travel, visa-on-arrival, and e-Visa facilities to ease travelling of Indians around the world.

 

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Mr. Muraleedharan said currently 16 countries provide visa-free entry, 40 provide visa-on-arrival and 47 countries provide e-Visa facilities to Indian passport holders. He said India is providing e-Visa facilities to nationals of 171 countries. He said providing such a facility also depends on various factors including bilateral relations and the principle of reciprocity.
