Government informs that over 30 crore Ayushman cards have been created so far

The government has informed that over 30 crore Ayushman cards have been created so far.

This was stated by Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prof. SP Singh Baghel in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today. He said, Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is the world’s largest publicly funded health assurance scheme which aims to provide health cover of 5 lakh rupees per family every year.

He said 55 crore beneficiaries of the scheme constitute the bottom 40 percent of India’s population. 27,742 hospitals have been impaneled under the scheme.
