Three-day National Horticulture Fair, hosted by IIHR begins in Hessarghatta, Bengaluru

The three-day National Horticulture Fair, hosted by the Indian Institute of Horticulture Research (IIHR) begins in Hessarghatta, Bengaluru today. The theme of the fair is ‘Nextgen technology-led horticulture for sustainable development.’

 

 

The event highlights innovative technologies like smart irrigation, vertical farming, and digital horticulture, emphasizing water conservation for drought-affected state farmers. The primary goal is to boost farmers’ income and ensure the production of high-quality horticultural goods.

During the event 25 farmers including 5  from North Eastern States, 4 entrepreneurs, 5 Food Processing Organizations, and 5 Krishi Vigyan Kendra staff members were selected for honour.

The fair includes hands-on training and workshops covering various horticultural aspects. With 250 dedicated stalls, the event anticipates the participation of approximately 75,000 people from across the country, providing them with an opportunity to explore the latest advancements in the field.
