ACB arrests PDD official on bribery charges

Anti Corruption Bureau arrested a government employee while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 6500.

 ACB said that a complaint was received from the complainant, alleging a demand of a bribe by a Power Development Department employee, for providing an electricity connection.

  Accordingly, a Case FIR No. 06/2024 U/S 7 of PC Act 1988 was registered with PS ACB Srinagar and investigation taken up.

 During the course of the investigation, a team was constituted to lay a trap for the accused public servant. The team laid a successful trap and arrested the PDD official red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 6500 from the complainant.

“Further investigation into the case is going on,” ACB said identifying the accused as Javid Ahmad Raina, (M.R/Tech), a resident of Gund Pora, Rampora Bandipora who was posted at Soura Grid Station. [KNT]
