Chief Electoral Officer Yatendra M. Maralkar Reviews Preparedness Of State Nodal Officer For General Election To Lok Sabha, 2024

In Ladakh, Chief Electoral Officer Yatendra M. Maralkar yesterday reviewed the preparedness of the State Nodal Officer for the General Election to Lok Sabha, 2024. 22 Nodal Officers are appointed in the Union Territory for various election related tasks for the lone seat of Lok Sabha. Ladakh Union Territory has one Constituency that will go poll in the fifth phase of election on May 20.
Chief Electoral Officer impressed upon all the State Nodal Officers to take charge of the role and responsibilities assigned to them immediately and submit a compliance report to the office of Chief Electoral Officer on a daily basis.
Chief Electoral Officer emphasized that all the officials and political stakeholders involved in the electoral process may conduct themselves strictly as per the guidelines and instructions issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) from time to time from the model code of conduct guidelines, media certification instructions to all other relevant legal provisions. He also said any deviation from the standing instructions of ECI and legal provisions of the conduct of elections shall be taken very seriously and strict legal actions shall be taken against the defaulters.
Joint Chief Electoral Officer and Nodal Officer for Expenditure Monitoring Sonam Chosjor stressing on the coordination among the Nodal Officer for MCC, Nodal Officer for MCMC and Nodal Officer for Expenditure Monitoring has read out the instructions relating to the pre-certification of the political advertisements in the meeting.
