IMD Predicts Light To Moderate Rainfall Over Western Himalayan Region

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall over the Western Himalayan Region and adjoining plains of Northwest India for the next four days. The IMD said that another fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region.

Under its influence, fairly widespread to widespread light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand until the 31st of March.

According to the IMD, there is a possibility of enhanced rainfall over these regions tomorrow. The weather department has also forecast a fresh spell of rainfall and thunderstorms in Northeast India from the 30th of March to the 1st of April.

It said that isolated to scattered rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura until tomorrow and is expected to increase thereafter till the 1st of April.

The IMD said that no significant change in maximum temperatures is very likely over the rest of the country during the next five days. However, the maximum temperatures over Central and East India are expected to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius during the next three days. The temperature in West Rajasthan will fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius after 24 hours.

On hot and humid weather, the IMD said that these conditions are very likely to prevail over Konkan, Goa, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Saurashtra and Kutch till 31st of this month.
