Sensex Rises 354 Points, Nifty Settles At 22,754

Benchmark equity indices ended higher on Wednesday with Nifty hitting fresh record high. BSE Sensex rose 354 points or 0.47 per cent to close at 75,038. Nifty-50 added 111 points or 0.49 per cent to settle at 22,754.

In the forex market, the rupee ended marginally lower at 83 rupees and 19 paise against the US dollar today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, Gold futures for June contracts were trading around 71,391 rupees per ten grams. Silver futures for May contracts were trading around 82,710 rupees per kilogram when reports last came in.

In intra-day trade, Brent crude was trading at 89 dollars and 70 cents per barrel.
