Sensex Hits All-Time High In Early Trade Amid Market Volatility

Domestic benchmark indices climbed in early trade today, with the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange hitting a fresh all-time high. The 30-share index rose 135 points to reach a new high of 78,188. The Nifty increased by 28 points to 23,749. However, later both benchmark indices encountered volatile trends and fluctuated between highs and lows.

The rupee experienced range-bound trading against the US dollar in early trade today. The local unit opened at 83.45 rupees and lost further ground to trade at 83.46 rupees against the greenback in initial deals, registering a decrease of 3 paise from its previous closing level.
