Kanihama locals demand start of bus service
Residents of Kanihama and its adjoining areas barely 12 kilometers away from Srinagar city have demanded eco-friendly bus service to these routes.
They expressed concern over the lack of transport facilities, particularly during evening hours.
A delegation of locals from Kanihama told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that there is no public transport facility available in these areas.
“We are close to the Nowgam Bypass area which is a highway and still no public transport is available for thousands of inhabitants living in different areas, particularly in Kanihama,” they said.
They said locals particularly government employees and patients have to face a lot of hardships in reaching Srinagar.
“Some e-rickshaws and Sumo vehicles have been plying but they are overcharging. We wish to have e-bus service for us as has been there for other routes,” the delegation said and appealed to authorities to address their problem. [KNT]
