Sensex surged 0.69 % & Nifty climbed 0.90 %

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty snapped three-day losing streak to trade higher by over one percent during today’s session. The Sensex surged 0.69 percent, or 546 points, reaching 79,122, while the Nifty climbed 0.90 percent, or 215 points, to 24,208, when the reports last came in.

The broader markets also showed strength, with the  BSE MidCap index rising nearly 2 per cent and the BSE SmallCap index surging by 1.86 per cent, a short while ago.
