Shaheen Addresses Public Gathering, Seeks Compensation for Cloud Burst Victims

Janata Dal United (JDU) President for Jammu and Kashmir, GM Shaheen, addressed a public gathering in the Kangan area of Ganderbal district, stating that the party is ready to contest elections in the region.

Shaheen revealed that JDU is awaiting the green signal from Party High Command and Nitish Kumar to officially announce its participation in the elections. He expressed confidence in the party’s preparedness, saying, “We are ready for elections, and once we get the nod from our leadership, we will hit the ground running.”

In addition to discussing the party’s electoral prospects, Shaheen also visited the cloud burst-affected area in Cherwan, where he appealed to the government to provide relief to the victims. He criticized the administration for its lack of response, stating that no top official has visited the area since the disaster struck.

He said his visit to the affected area and his call for government action highlights the party’s commitment to address the concerns of the people and providing support during times of crisis. [KNT]
