Police arrest 4 individuals for illegally transporting liquor bottles

Anantnag Police have arrested four individuals and seized a substantial quantity of illicit liquor in recent days. The drive against the illegal liquor trade has resulted in the recovery of contraband from various locations in the district.

  The police said that during a routine checkpoint at Tulkhan Crossing, Police apprehended Javeed Ahmad Dar, a resident of Tulkhan Bijbehara, who was transporting several bottles of illicit liquor. In a separate operation at Sarnal Chowk, Maqsood Mansoori, a resident of Bihar, was intercepted while carrying illicit liquor on his motorcycle.

  Additionally, two individuals, Imtiyaz Ahmad Tramboo and Nazir Ahmad Rather, were arrested during a vehicle check near GMC Dialgam, where multiple sealed bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from their passenger auto.

  Cases have been registered at Police Stations Bijbehara and Anantnag under relevant sections of law, and further investigations are underway. [KNT]
