Flood situation remains critical in Bihar as 16 districts affected

In Bihar, flood situation continues to be grim in sixteen districts as several new regions in Kosi, Seemanchal and Eastern parts have been affected in the past 48 hours. In Madhepura and Saharsa districts, several villages are affected due to deluge of Kosi.

 

 

Many parts in Khagaria and Muzaffarpur district are also affected by the flood in multiple rivers including Kosi, Bagmati and Gandak. Flood water is also rising in Samastipur due rapid rise of water level of Kareh, Bagmati and Kamla rivers. More than 12 lakh people have been affected due to flood.

Special officers have been appointed to intensify the relief work in worst affected Sitamarhi and Darbhang districts. People are forced to leave without electricity in several parts. Boat ambulances are being mobilized to flood hit areas by the health department.

Indian Air force has joined relief work in the worst hit areas. Agriculture department has asked officials to survey and assess the damages of crops due to deluge within a week.
