Counting of votes underway for J&K and Haryana Assembly Elections
The counting of votes is underway for Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. The counting commenced at 8 this morning and results are expected to start coming around noon.
In Jammu and Kashmir, two results have been declared so far. Nazir Ahmed Khan of the National Conference has won from Gurez by a margin of over one thousand votes.
BJP candidate Darshan Kumar has won from Basholi seat.
Former Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah is leading from both Budgam and Ganderbal seats.
Peerzada Mohammad Syed of Congress is ahead from Anantnag seat.
Abdul Majeed Bhat of National Conference is ahead from Anantnag West. Sajjad Gani Lone of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference is leading in Handwara.
Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami of CPI(M) is ahead in Kulgam.
Senior Congress leader Gulam Mohammad Mir is leading from Dooru seat.
Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri of National Conference is leading from Srigufwara-Bijbehara seat of Anantnag district against Iltija Mufti, daughter of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti.
BJP candidate Balwant Singh Mankotia is leading from the Chenani constituency of Udhampur.

BJP’s Nikhil Madan is leading from Sonipat seat.
Haryana Minister Mool Chand Sharma is ahead in Ballabhgarh.
Independent candidate Devendra Kadyan is leading in Ganaur seat.
Wrestler Vinesh Phogat from Congress is ahead from Julana constituency.
