MP Er Rasheed Meets LG Manoj Sinha, Seeks Release of Political Prisoners

Srinagar, Oct 12, KNT: AIP President and MP Baramulla Er Rashid met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan today to discuss the pressing concerns of North Kashmir. Er Rashid submitted a memorandum highlighting the critical issues affecting the entire North Kashmir assembly segments.
During the meeting, Er Rashid urged LG Sinha to intervene in releasing all prisoners lodged in and outside Jammu & Kashmir jails. He also requested a review of cases involving terminated government employees, emphasizing the need for their rehabilitation.
The MP further brought to attention the harassment of youth and others during police verification processes, seeking an end to unnecessary difficulties. Additionally, Er Rashid sought swift resolution of pending passport cases and hassle-free passport issuance for youth.
Er Rashid stressed the importance of accountability and transparency in governance, emphasizing that public servants must serve the people without bias or corruption. He also questioned why the central government engages with people in Ladakh and the North East but not with those in Jammu and Kashmir to resolve legitimate issues and political rights.
