Sensex, Nifty Continue Downward Trend In Afternoon Trade

Domestic benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, continued their downward trend in the afternoon trade today. The 30-share BSE Sensex shed 282 points to 81,538, while the NSE Nifty-50 was at 24,969, with a loss of 88 points. Both the indices were trading over 0.3 percent down a short while ago.

In line with the equity market, the broader market at Bombay Stock Exchange was also trading in negative territory. The mid-cap index fell over 0.2 percent, and the small-cap index was trading marginally down 0.08 percent when the reports last came in.
