Teacher Attached for Alleged Assault on Girl Students

A Physical Education Teacher (PET) at Higher Secondary School (HSS) Ajas in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has been attached following allegations of physical assault on girl students.

The teacher’s brutal act has sparked outrage among parents and the community.

School sources said that the teacher allegedly beat the female students with a belt on October 18 after they arrived late to school. Outraged parents reviewed the CCTV footage and demanded action against the teacher.

 A formal complaint, accompanied by damning CCTV footage, was lodged with Deputy Commissioner Bandipora in this regard. The District Youth Services and Sports official immediately removed the teacher from his duties at HSS Ajas and directed him to report to the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports for further investigation.

  “The decision aims to ensure a safe and conducive environment for our students and facilitate a thorough investigation,” the order stated. [KNT]
