ANB: Senior most National Conference (NC) Abdul Rahim Rather is all set to be the new Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
Known for his extensive experience and dedication to the region’s legislative affairs, Rather is expected to bring a steady hand to the Assembly’s proceedings.
Abdul Rahim Rather, a respected figure with a deep understanding of the local socio-political landscape, has served in various significant capacities throughout his career, earning a reputation for impartiality and a strong commitment to democratic values.
According to the Associated News Bureau (ANB), his appointment comes at a time when the Assembly faces numerous challenges, including pressing legislative matters and the evolving dynamics of governance in Jammu and Kashmir.
As Speaker, Rather will be responsible for ensuring smooth proceedings in the Assembly, facilitating discussions on critical issues, and maintaining decorum among legislators.
Meanwhile, Dr. Narinder Singh, a prominent BJP leader in Jammu and Kashmir, has been appointed as the Deputy Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
With A.B. Rahim Rather as the Speaker, Dr. Singh’s role as Deputy Speaker will be instrumental in assisting with the management of Assembly proceedings, ensuring orderly debates, and promoting cooperation among legislators. (ANB)
