Exchange of fire in Bandipora forest, Area cordoned off

KNT: There was a gunfight between militants and joint forces in Ketsun forest area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday.
Reports said that the exchange of fire took place when the soldiers were conducting a search operation in the forest area.
The intermittent firing was going on till the filing of this report.
When contacted, an official said that it will be premature to divulge information about the encounter at this point.
Earlier, a couple of days back, militants had indiscriminately fired upon an army party in the Panar area of the same district. The search for the militants who had escaped into the forest area had been launched and as per reports continued even on Tuesday. [KNT]
