Militancy will be over within a year if people support govt: LG Manoj Sinh

KNT: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha issued a stern warning to those harboring militants, stating that their houses will be demolished. He emphasized that security forces will not harm innocent individuals, but culprits will face consequences.

LG Sinha as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust urged the public to stand against militancy, citing the recent killing of a local doctor and six non-local laborers in Ganderbal district. The Lieutenant Governor questioned whether anyone has the right to kill those working to improve connectivity in the region.

He also highlighted the role of neighboring countries in disrupting peace in Jammu and Kashmir. However, Sinha expressed confidence that if security forces, the administration, and the public unite, militancy can be eradicated within a year.

He made these remarks during his visit to Baramulla where he attended a function organized by a non-governmental organization. [KNT]
