Peoples’ Conference to Challenge J&K Police Verification Process in Apex Court

 KNT: The Sajad Lone-led Peoples Conference has announced plans to challenge the police verification system in Jammu and Kashmir.

The party believes this system violates natural justice and imparts collective punishment, particularly when entire families are denied certificates due to a single relative’s record.

The party argued that withholding verification certificates from families based on a relative’s record is no different from bulldozing properties, which the Supreme Court has deemed collective punishment.
  

Sajad Lone asserted that national security is compromised when families are unfairly targeted. “The Peoples Conference will take this matter to the Supreme Court, seeking judicial intervention to address these concerns.” [KNT]
