Srinagar, National Conference legislator Saifuddin Bhat and Peoples Democratic Front chairman, Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, have hailed the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways’ decision to construct a highway circuit from Narbal in Kashmir to Bafliaz in Poonch, Jammu.

This proposed highway will integrate social, cultural, and tourism potential, connecting areas like Magam, Babarishi, Tangmarg, Gulmarg, Doodhpathri, Yusmarg, Pakherpora, Kellar, Shopian, and Bafliaz Poonch into a comprehensive tourism circuit.

Both leaders emphasized that this project will bring a new dawn to Jammu and Kashmir’s socio-economic landscape. They also demanded the inclusion of Tossamaidan, a tourist destination, in the proposed highway to optimize its vast tourism potential for the local populace.

They stressed that it’s time to look beyond popular destinations like Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonamarg, as Jammu and Kashmir have numerous unexplored tourist spots. The leaders highlighted the crucial role of surface connectivity in achieving socio-economic prosperity and called for focused attention on promoting the tourism sector, which is vital to Kashmir’s livelihood.
