PM Modi to Attend National Police Conference in Bhubaneswar, Focus on Security Challenges

Bhubaneswar,Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the 59th All India Conference of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police, to be held at the State Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, from November 30 to December 1, 2024.
The three-day conference, will focus on critical national security issues, including counter-terrorism, left-wing extremism, coastal security, narcotics control, and the implementation of new criminal laws. Senior police professionals and security administrators will discuss strategies for tackling crime, managing law and order, and addressing internal security threats.
According to the Associated News Bureau (ANB), the event will also see the presentation of the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service. Unique features such as yoga sessions, thematic discussions, and breakout sessions have been included to encourage innovative approaches to policing.
Since 2014, PM Modi has promoted hosting the conference in diverse locations across India to enhance engagement with regional police forces. Previous conferences have been held in Guwahati, Rann of Kachchh, Hyderabad, and Jaipur.
The conference will be attended by the Union Home Minister, National Security Adviser, Ministers of State for Home Affairs, and DGPs and IGPs from across the country. (ANB)
