Omar Abdullah questions timing of Darbar Move debate, Reiterates restoration commitment

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Wednesday said that it is strange that the Darbar Move issue was not raised during election and after the culmination of elections this issue gained momentum.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with civil society members, the CM questioned why the issue only gained prominence after the assembly elections.
“I fail to understand why the Darbar Move issue was not raised during the elections. It seems to have become a focus only post-elections. However, we have consistently assured in various meetings that the Darbar Move will be restored,” he stated.
He said that Jammu has a distinct identity. “Jammu holds unique importance, and its significance will not be allowed to diminish,” Omar Abdullah said. [KNT]
