Labourer dies in water tank accident in Srinagar outskirts

A labourer lost his life on Wednesday after a 1,000-litre water tank fell on him in the Wanabal Nowgam area of Srinagar outskirts.
The incident occurred while the tank was being shifted at the site. Eyewitnesses said that the labourer, identified as Muhammad Jamal Mir, son of Abdul Samad from Handwara, sustained critical injuries when the tank toppled and struck him.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law. [KNT]
